You can read up on our exciting news in this months Newsletter October! We are so proud to be able to have Sandy Marquez join our EY team as a paid staff member through the grant. She is working tirelessly on curriculum for the Middle School and has just been commissioned by Bethel Tate High School to begin working on a 40 week curriculum to be launched next year.
This week we will be launching our work in Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School by delivering 19 weekend food bags to help food insecure students have an easier time of getting through the weekend. Even more exciting is the partnership with Connect Church in providing the funds and the delivery driver to take on this new initiative.
Finally it’s time to talk turkey and Christmas! This year Empower Youth through our partnerships with other organizations will be providing full turkey meals for all of our students receiving weekend food bags. That’s meals for more than 700 students. Students should be receiving forms in their bags or in a separate hand-out from the schools and need to turn those in as soon as possible. Please contact Lori Conley at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions on how to receive a turkey meal if you know someone who could use one.
Our Christmas program is going to be a bit different this year. We are doing a very interactive Christmas with on-site parties and gift giving on December 15. This means we need our elves to purchase gifts and also volunteer to help us provide an incredible Winter Carnival for all of our children. If you are interested please seek out our volunteer line: email@example.com.
There is something for everyone to do at Empower Youth– young or old– we have a place for you!
